I first met Kim in London in the 1970s when he was working as a research student (but curiously already a "Senior Fellow") at The Wellcome, and later the Warburg Institute, carrying out his ground breaking reserarches at the time
into the linear perspective of Leonardo da Vinci. Kim & I were planning to use this website, ![]() Sadly that isn't going to happen now.... the reason is my dear lifelong friend has died... Poor Kim died unexpectedly from the dasterdly COVID-19 virus on 1st April 2020 Like the huge number of people he inspired with his surprising level of energy, great wisdom, extrodinary and exceptional scholarship and subtle but ever present sense of humour - plus his truly astonishing in-depth worldwide cultural knowledge that the numerous languarges he was fluent in must have helped him acquire - I'm deeply upset, devistated even, at the sudden loss to us all of this amazing but unassuming man. The world has lost a treasure and it feels as if there is now a Kim-shaped and sized hole in time and space, as well as in the hearts of all those who knew him. That empty space can never be filled. ![]() Obituary of Kim H Veltman (Keimpe Henricus Joseph Maria Veltman) written by Dr M P Satija, UGC Emeritus fellow, Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar, India Article for freinds by Anna Maria Dell’Agata - Memories of Kim Veltman / The spiritual adventure of research (in English) Articolo per amici di Anna Maria Dell’Agata - Ricordo di Kim Veltman / L’avventura spirituale della ricerca (in italiano) |
